Communicate!: Effective communication skills using comedy techniques
This workshop is an intensive 1 day session, but with only eight spaces be sure to book quickly.
- Learn how to communicate more effectively by just being yourself
- Discover the secrets comedians use to establish rapport with their audiences
- Find out how humour can you help you become a master storyteller
The London Business Forum has partnered with The Comedy School & Associates to offer a dynamic, inspirational and FUN one day workshop exploring how to become a more effective communicator.
A well judged injection of comedy into any situation can provide light relief or, with some careful planning, provide a thought provoking alternative view to serious matters. Comedy is a great medium for communication, as they say "when you are laughing you are listening, and when you are listening you are learning."
This event will be highly practical and will focus on learning through listening and doing. We'll explore authenticity, personas and examine how we see each other and make assumptions about one another. We'll look at your favourite comedians and explore why you like them and what makes them engaging. We'll also explore the issues that can hinder us from presenting effectively and demystify some common fears.
What are the secret tools and techniques that comedians use to immediately establish rapport with their audiences? Why are these techniques so effective in comedy and how can they be used in business situations? Why is it important to be authentic and emotional every time you present? Is there a formula for storytelling that will help you identify the key parts of any story whilst dropping the 'blah blah' parts?
By the end of the day you'll be bursting with confidence, aching with laughter and ready to stand up as a more effective communicator than ever before.
